As luck would have it, I live in one of the few counties within California that will continue to shelter-in-place. We are on the slow road to resilience. There are certainly pros and cons for what our local governments should or should not be doing which I will not debate here. But I will discuss cocktails.
I had book group tonight again on Zoom (we read Castle of Water by Dane Huckelbridge), and since summer is quickly approaching, seemed like a fun night for a fun drink. A Grapefruit Martini.
Just be sure to keep safe and smart regardless of your state and county rules. And please keep your mask on in the grocery store. 😷

yields 2 drinks
Ingredients
3 oz good gin
3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 rosemary sprigs

Preparation
Combine all ingredients (except rosemary) in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake until well chilled and double strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
